As we are looking to make some changes at The Morning Drive, including a new name, a new post schedule, and a renewed focus, I thought I would look back at the last ten years and share the top posts of all time. Starting with numbers 10-8. You can click on each title to read the post.
Coming in at number TEN is “From My Heart” originally posted on July 2, 2015. This post is a look at current culture and a glimpse of my heart. Here is a quote from the post:
“Friends, I am hurting! Tears are literally welling up in my eyes as I am thinking. It pains me deeply to say what I am about to say. There is a certain reality that hits once I publish my thoughts. Once I speak or write I can never take back the words. The thoughts of my heart, my private reflections are about to go public. I cannot help it. Similar to Jeremiah, I have tried not to speak, but there is as if there is a fire in my bones and I have to give vent to the burning inside of me (Jeremiah 20:9).”
Coming in at number NINE is “Top Ten Church Puns” originally posted on April 21, 2009. This is one of my earliest posts on The Morning Drive. I was still getting my feet wet, so to speak. This post contains a little bit of admittedly pointed church humor and a point to consider. Here is one of the puns:
“Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn’t belong.”
Coming in at number EIGHT is “My Take-Away from Kavanaugh and Ford” Originally posted on October 2, 2018. This is the most recent of the top ten viewed posts. This post is about my thoughts as one who is a similar age to both Ford and Kavanaugh who were making the news in the fall of 2018. There is also a message for young adults in current society. Here is an excerpt:
“I am sure no matter what I say, someone will disagree with me. I do not expect you to completely agree with me. I am not trying to persuade you one way or the other, for or against either political party, or for or against either person in the hearing. After reading news reports from what I think are reliable sources and after watching videos from similar sources I have come to the conclusion that both Ford and Kavanaugh believe they are telling the truth.”
Thanks for letting me go back and share these posts. I post numbers 7-5 in a couple of days.
