The Power of Jesus’ Resurrection

The power of the resurrection of Jesus in the words of the Apostle Paul

Rom 6:3-6, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.”

2 Tim 1:8-10, “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,”

1 Cor 15:54-57, “When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Cor 15:12-19, “Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.”

Jesus Resurrection guarantees yours and mine.

  1. Thank you for this post! I was privileged to shoot the Passion Play at my church… As a “churched kid” all my life, I expected to be moved by the account, but the thing that stood out to me the most was Peter’s realization after Christ’s resurrection. He was forgiven and set free. Thank you for this post! Check out my Passion Play photos at: http://wp.me/p3eqiF-9y

    • Thank you for your kind remarks and for your passion for Christ. I am more and more convinced that they strength of the gospel message is not only the efficacy of the sinless blood of Christ to atone for our sin, but the power of God to raise Him from death and give us as His children the assurance of eternal life when we are in Christ (Gal 3:26-27). The story of Saul of Tarsus and his change from persecutor of the Way to persecuted herald of the Way is proof of the power of Christ’s resurrection, but that is a post for another day.

      • Definitely! It would warm my heart to be used in that capacity. Thank you!

The photos only capture a small glimpse of the power of the Gospel message. I was humbled to have the privilege to capture this epic account.

        To God be the Glory!
