MacArthur often preaches this same point. I think he is exactly right in this statement, and I find it powerful. Another passage that should be brought up in this context (by the same writer, Paul) is Galatians 2:20, “Not I but Christ lives in me” (etc.).

I puchased it for my kindle and started yesterday — I am about 1/2 way through. MacArthur is one of my favorite authors eversince I read “The Gospel According to Jesus” in the early 90’s.
