Praise

heb 13-15This morning as I drove to my study, I became lost in thought about so many things concerning God. I reflected on:

  • His creation.
  • The variety of the seasons.
  • The beauty of His handiwork.
  • The people in my life.
  • His people the Church.
  • The peace I have in Christ.
  • The simple joy of following Him.
  • Salvation from wrath to come.
  • and so much more.

God is great and He is gracious.

  1. This sounds, to someone who is not acquainted with the Christian life, very simple and naive. However, there is much peace and well-being to be gained from such an exercise as this. Some are able to reflect on God during a quiet time. Others hear music which propels such thought and worship. Still others engage in prayer and spiritual connection. Some take in nature or the creation and marvel. Whatever one’s preferred way of communion with God, do so regularly and often.

    • Jay,
Maybe to some it sounds naïve, but to me your statements ring true. Psalm 8 came to my mind,
” O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.” (Psalms 8:1-8)
