Tonight, I get to be part of something special. For the second year in a row, I get to help give away gifts in the Jasper Christmas Parade. Some friends of mine have a float in this parade (Actually they are deacons at Parrish Church of Christ where we worship and work) and they are my friends. Over the past few years they give away toys to the children along the parade route. Some children who come from difficult financial situations will receive a bicycle. These three deacons and their business partners purchased 50 bicycles to give away to children in need. I am so pumped about this experience. Last year this was one of the highlights of the season, tonight promises to be the same.
I cannot help but think of the words of the Savior, “It is more blessed to GIVE than to receive.” (emp. mine)
