Yesterday evening I spoke at the Church of Christ in Vernon, Alabama. Vernon is about 50 miles from my home in Oakman. On the journey, I saw beautiful pastures, small farms, horses, cattle, and deer. I also drove by historic homes and a couple of early 1900’s school-houses. I passed through Corona, Berry, Mt Vernon, Crossville, Rossland City, Fayette, and few other communities and small towns. One of those small communities was Little Hope. As soon as I noticed the name of the community I passed a second sign that said “Little Hope _______ Church.”
Now I do not know anyone who attends this congregation of people, but I do wonder why they chose that name. I do not want to attend a place with little hope. I want to have hope — the assurance of a heavenly home in Christ. What about you?

I like! I could not help but think, why did someone not come up with a better name?
