One of my favorite shows on CBS is ‘Undercover Boss’ I wrote about it here: Competing network ABC answered the challenge and two weeks ago aired the first episode of ‘Secret Millionaire.’ The idea of this show is that a millionaire lives undercover one week in a depressed city or region of the country. While there, living on social security wages, the volunteer at different organizations that help the homeless, underprivileged, or simply provide a service to the community in some way. After spending a week with the organizations, they reveal that they are indeed millionaires and give these organizations (and in some cases individuals) large – so far $10,000 – $60,000 – donations.
I am a softy when it comes to these shows. I tear-up when these hard working people receive such a gift. Last night’s millionaire – “Marc” seemed to enjoy giving he even mentioned a temptation to give up his two beach houses in San Diego and living in the one-room house in Detroit so he could stay and volunteer. He said repeatedly, that he felt the millions he had from an initial $1,000 investment in a duplex was only a gift to be able to help others. Two verses came to mind last night as I watched this show:
” . . . It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
“. . . but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.” Eph 4:38
You and I may not be millionaires – I’m certainly not – but we can give. We can share what we have of our FAT – Finances, Ability, and Time.
Keep reading, keep working, and keep giving.

I watched Secret Millionare for the first time last night. Loved it. It’s scary to me to think that we have cities in the United States that are in worse condition than what I’ve seen in a third world country. I didn’t believe when they said on the show that there are homes literally for a dollar in detroit… until I checked out a real estate website.
