There is an old joke that I first heard as a young teenager. The presenter asked the question, “What do mules and Christians have in common?” (pause for effect) . . . . “Long faces.”
At first that joke is funny, but then very poignant. Why do Christians have long faces? Why do so many of us seem to walk around with the weight of the world on our shoulders? Do we not realize that Christ died for our sin and to provide a way for us to reach heaven? Have we not counted the number of times Jesus, Paul and others talk about and encourage joy? Here are two verses that I start my day with. Two verses that help me be a positive, smiling, happily contented, Child of God:
Phil 4:4, “REJOICE in the LORD, ALWAYS. I will say it again – REJOICE!”
Psa 118:24, “THIS is the day the LORD has made. I will REJOICE and be GLAD in it.”
(emphasis – mine)
Have a great day!

Yes we need to rejoice in the Lord and express through our smiles that there is truly joy in our lives because of our Lord and Savior.
