This morning like many of you I am listening and watching as the miners from the Chile begin to emerge from the mine. As I write the 11th miner just emerged from the small rescue shaft. Living in a coal mining community this disaster and rescue operation rings close to home. Our private and community prayers continue to be with the men and their families.
As I consider what these men and their families must be feeling as the rescue begins and continues, I cannot help but think about our rescue from sin and death. Paul writes, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.” (Rom 6:23).
A number of years ago Acappella recorded one of my favorite songs: “Rescue.” Here is that song.

A perfect song choice! Thanks for sharing.
