What I have noticed from Job is that his friends really added nothing to the conversation. Job learned and progressed only through his conversation with God. I think Job’s friends would have been so much more effective if they had just kept doing what they started out to do which was just to sit with Job as friends in the place of waiting for God. I do also wonder if Job would have gotten to the God conversation sooner if he had not had to defend himself against the words of his friends.
Great observation.
