Last night Amy and I had a great night out. Sometime in February I purchased concert tickets. After a year of snow, tornadoes, and Amy moving to a new school building this week, we needed a night out. After a dinner at Olive Garden, a walk around a store or two, we made our way to the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall for an evening with James Taylor and His Legendary Band. for two hours JT played songs we all knew stopping between songs to tell us why he wrote certain lyrics and why certain stories about some songs were not true. He traded comments with audience members and took time after an intermission to sign autographs for a fortunate few. This concert now ranks on my top experience list. JT treated us like family not like ticket holders. Below are the lyrics from a JT song and a video (via YouTube) from a similar setting to my experience.
