- Athletes in a slump go back to basics to help get back to form or higher standards.
- Are you facing Spiritual Doldrums (sluggishness) – Go Back to Basics

Rebuild Your Faith
- Faith – Heb 11:1
- A firm conviction a confident trust.
- Why faith?
- Heb 11:6 – essential
- Jn 8:24 – leads to eternal life
- Lack of faith brings fear!
- Rebuilding faith starts with God’s word – Jn 20:30-31
- When you are in a spiritual slump sit down with God’s word.
Renew Your Hope
- The happy anticipation of good – a confident expectation.
- Desire + Expectation = Hope
- Why Hope?
- Something to look forward too (b-days, xmas)
- Helps us keep on keeping on.
- Motivates purity
- We spread hope – evangelize.
- Renewing Hope follows a Rebuilt Faith (Rom 15:4).
- Athletes going back to the basics keep their eyes on the prize.
Reactivate Your Love
- Love – 1 Cor 13:4-8
- “Active good will” / Bene – volent
- Why Love?
- Commanded – Matt 22:37-40
- Learned from God – 1 Jn 4:7-8, 12-16
- Reactivating Love grows from faith and hope
- Starts with God – 1 Jn 4:9-11
Repair Joy
- “chara” – related to charis = grace
- Joy is the natural response to grace.
- Why Joy?
- God’s kingdom is one of Joy – Rom 14:17
- Joy helps us endure – Heb 10:32-34.
- Repairing Joy
- Pray for Joy – Jn 16:24
- Learn from Paul’s example – Philippians (esp 4:4).
Rejoice in Your Peace
- Harmony between you and
- Others / Self / God
- Why Peace?
- Peace lowers stress and increases joy
- 2 Cor 13:11
- Rejoicing in Peace
- Starts with Peace with God – Rom 5:1
- By Faith peace will pass understanding – Phil 4:5-7
